Japanese Spitz breeders should pay much attention to a potential buyers' education on the breed. Buyers should be consulted on the grooming issues and exercise needs of the Japanese Spitz. Health shouldn't be overlooked either. The Japanese Spitz is a healthy breed. However, in some cases patella luxation has been observed. Therefore, breeders should test the breeding stock for this condition. Buyers, in their turn, are recommended to ask for papers that confirm that the parent dogs have been screened for hereditary diseases and that the puppies have been vaccinated.
Japanese Spitzes - Vaccinations
Vaccinations are necessary for little Japanese Spitz to protect their health. Antibodies that puppies receive with the dam's milk help their immune system function properly during the first days of their life. However, as time goes forward, puppies should receive additional support, which is provided by vaccination.
